A dead mermaid, Sybille Baumgartner (Anna Rot), beaten to death and found in the shallow shoreline of Lake Constance, poses a new challenge to Micha Oberländer (Matthias Koeberlin) and Hannah Zeiler (Nora Waldstätten).
The main suspect is Matteo (Arron Frieß), who belongs to a group of kite-surfers that set up their camp nearby. Is he the murderer or simply a witness on the run? The manhunt begins.
Meanwhile, Oberländer and Zeiler dive into the victim´s family life and her husband Fabian Baumgartner (Sebastian Bezzel) and their daughter Emma (Lucy Gartner) - at a noble winery at Lake Constance.
Oberländer will learn painfully, that Sybille, just like him, dared a new beginning and in doing so, she lost everything she ever loved.
