Elsa (Michaela May), Clara (Alicia von Rittberg) and Fanny Novak (Ulrike C. Tscharre) are on their way to Croatia.
Elsa’s deceased husband left her a villa there, as well as a huge pile of debt. His last wish was that she “makes something out of it.” Her granddaughter Clara, who graduated from high school a year ago, is adventurous and enthusiastic to go there. Elsa hesitates but is quickly convinced by Clara and decides that her skeptical daughter Fanny should accompany them. In her hectic daily routine as a doctor, Fanny has little time for a spontaneous trip, but she is convinced to go, too. As long as she is back at home in Munich in no more than three days…
But the journey does not go as planned. On the first day, Elsa’s car breaks down, but thanks to Milan (Alain Blazevic), a charming travel agency owner, they can continue their trip after two days.
Throughout the journey, the estranged women are confronted with problems again and again and are forced to stick together and work together.
The closer they get to their goal, the closer they get to themselves and each other – but what awaits them in Opatija, the little village where the villa is located, is not what they expected…
