Detectives Micha Oberländer (Matthias Koeberlin) and Hannah Zeiler (Nora Waldstätten) are called by a teacher and his students who, during a mystical night excursion through the dark forest, found the lifeless body of Sebastian Weidinger with ancient leather mitts over his hands.
The centuries old tools used to tie up the victim were taken from the local history museum nearby, and tell the story of a medieval ritual in which criminals were tied up with leather mitts over their hands and made helpless, abandoned in the forest and hunted. The ones who survived were free, but most of them died.
Who could have a motive to send Weidinger on this brutal journey to death?
In the course of the murder investigation Zeiler and Oberländer have to face their new facts of their own lives´ and are confronted with a tragic story of love, loss and revenge.
