"Murder by the Lake" Begins Filming New Episodes

Alina Fritsch is the new partner of Matthias Koeberlin, who is investigating for two new episodes of "Murder at the Lake" since Tuesday, April 26, 2022. As Inspector Luisa Hoffmann, the Viennese actress stands in for Nora Waldstätten, who cannot be part of this year’s production of the popular ORF/ZDF crime series due to scheduling reasons.

After the revenge goddess "Nemesis" wreaks her havoc in Episode 16, a "Night Demon” causes the investigation to falter in the 17th film.
As usual, the new Austrian-German duo is again joined by Hary Prinz, Stefan Pohl, Martina Ebm and Fiona Katharina Neumeier.
Heikko Deutschmann, Jutta Fastian and Martin Feifel ("Nemesis") as well as Jaschka Lämmert ("The Night Demon"), among others, also play episodic roles.
Principal Photography in Bregenz, Lauterach, Lindau and the surrounding area is expected to last until the end of June.
The film will again be directed by Michael Schneider from scripts by Mathias Schnelting ("Nemesis") as well as Jeanet Pfitzer, Frank Koopmann and Roland Heep ("The Night Demon").
The two new episodes are expected to be shown in 2023.

After Hanna Zeiler has not yet returned from her motorcycle vacation, Micha Oberländer (Matthias Koeberlin) has to deal with Austrian Inspector Luisa Hoffmann (Alina Fritsch) and at the same time investigate the intimate web of an only seemingly conventional family.
A man's lifeless body is found in the woods near Lake Constance, posing a sinister mystery for the duo.
Photos of the family of Professor Lambeck (Heikko Deutschmann), head of the psychiatric clinic at Lake Constance, are found in the makeshift quarters of the dead man, with the eyes of each family member gouged out.
When the deaf girl Trischa (Kea Kraussau), who seems to have been watching the investigators in the forest, can no longer be found, the circle of suspects is further expanded.
Neither Lambeck himself nor his wife, their daughter or her boyfriend, claim to have known the dead man.
But why did the murder victim photograph the family? What did the dead man want to take revenge on the family for?
And does Trischa pose a threat to the Lambeck family, or was she just a witness and could be the next victim?

The collaboration between Chief Inspector Micha Oberländer (Matthias Koeberlin) from Lindau and his colleague Luisa Hoffmann (Alina Fritsch) from Bregenz are put to the test.
When Oberländer, plagued by headaches, nightmares and memory lapses, arrives at the crime scene on a lonely country road in the morning, he fails to tell colleagues Komlatschek (Hary Prinz) and Hoffmann that he has a vague memory of the victim.
The man, Jonas Merlau (Yasmani Stambader), was run over. Missing skid marks indicate the intent to kill. The victim and his girlfriend Aisha (Cansu Tosun) had come to Lake Constance to buy a sailboat.
On the night of the murder, the sale was supposed to take place in a restaurant, but the seller did not show up.
Oberländer remembers being at the same restaurant that night as well, but his memory lapses give him further puzzles until he thinks of a terrible suspicion...

"Murder by the Lake" is a co-production with Graf Filmproduktion, in cooperation with ORF and ZDF, supported by Fernsehfonds Austria and Land Vorarlberg.
