The Water Ghost (WT), The Marksman's Wife (WT), Witchcraft (WT)
Murder by the Lake – 27 „The Water Ghost“ (WT) with a.o. Maria Hofstätter, Laura Berlin, Isabella Bartdorff, Sarah Spale; Director: Michael Schneider, Writer: Sven Halfar
Mara Eisler suddenly wakes up on the shore of Lake Constance in the morning after a date she can barely remember. Her date is found murdered in the water nearby. The evidence begins to point to Eisler herself as a suspect. While Oberländer and Komlatschek find themselves torn between professional duty and personal loyalty, the investigation leads to a missing wife on the run and an old legend about the “Water Ghost,” said to drag men burdened with dark guilt down into the depths. A case that exposes not only professional challenges, but personal ones as well.
Murder by the Lake – 28 „The Marksman's Wife“ (WT) with o.a. Juergen Maurer, Anton Algrang, Alina Schaller; Director: Patricia Frey, Writer: Andreas Linke
The murder of a wine merchant – shot with a historic 17th-century flintlock pistol in his marksman’s uniform – draws Oberländer and Eisler into the closed ranks of a tradition-bound marksmen's club. When another body is discovered and secret deals surrounding a winery come to light, family loyalties and decades-old facades start to crumble. A dark web of pride, ownership claims and suppressed guilt puts those involved in mortal danger.
Murder by the Lake – 29 „Witchcraft“ (WT) with o.a. Anna Unterberger, Aurel Manthei, Konstanze Dutzi, Peter Pertusini; Director: Michael Schneider; Writer: Jeanet Pfitzer, Frank Koppmann, Roland Heep
The mysterious death of a healer known as a “herbal witch” leads Oberländer and Eisler to a staged ritual site in the forest. Strangulation, a mysterious stab wound and a Christian cross raise suspicions that point not only to personal conflicts but also to enemy stereotypes. As clues lead to a separated partner, former patients and an unknown man, superstition, modern spirituality and historical witch hunts become fatally intertwined.
